Looking for a next generation digital interface using current generation connectivity? Look no further than CoaXPress. CoaXPress (CXP) is an asymmetric high speed point to point serial communication standard for the transmission of video and still images, scalable over single or multiple coaxial cables. It has a high speed downlink of up to 6.25Gbps per cable for video, images and data, plus a lower speed, 20Mbps uplink for communications and control.
Current digital video interfaces all have limitations and do not meet the requirements of nextgeneration imaging applications. CoaXPress overcomes the limitations of current video interface technologies - primarily cable length, speed and ease of use. CoaXPress combines the best features of existing interfaces into just one interface solution that uses 75 Ohm serial digital coaxes and 75 Ohm BNC connectors.
Based on published CoaXPress figures*, Gepco’s line of serial digital coaxes provide the greatest distance when compared to other manufacturer’s comparable cables; if you have a CoaXPress application, the obvious cable choice is Gepco HD-SDI coaxes, available from Delco Wire.
